Puppies, similar to children, need boundaries, routine, and consistency. During their FaustHouse training period, our puppies are mostly contained in a play area and fully supervised when exercising and exploring the house. Havanese are highly curious and will chew on ANYTHING within their reach. For potty aides, we stay away from disposable paper pad as Havanese LOVE to shred paper. Havanese should also refrain from jumping heights until the patella bones are set (which is why AKC does not allow dogs to compete in agility until 2 years of age.) Stairs for couches/beds help prevent bone issues in small dogs. Below are things we regularly use to protect our dogs and prevent over-stimulation.

Even if you plan to take you new family member to a professional groomer, all puppies need regular attention between spa visits. Havanese must have a daily coat brushing, teeth cleaning, baths, and regular nail trims. These sessions help build trust and bonding with your pet. At the very least, families will need a pin bush, butter comb, nail trimming device, shampoo, conditioner, and dental hygiene products. We have also provided additional grooming tools for those who want to take on more responsibilities.
